Wacky Wire

Description:  The coiled wire spins, there is a ring with handles.

Rules:  

     1.  You must keep both hands on the handles at all times

     2.  The ring must make it all the way to the bottom (yes, past the curve to the washer)

     3.  The ring may not touch the wire on the way down, if you do, the machine will emit a CONSTANT beep and light, this ends your turn.

     4.  If you make it to the bottom, and touch the washer, the machine will emit a FLASHING beep and light, this signals a win!

Best Strategy:

     1.  Hold the wand at the very ends with your fingertips, this will allow you to twist the wand better.

     2.  NEVER move your hands back and fourth like you're steering a bicycle, you only need to roll the wand forward and backward, like rolling a cigarette.  We had a saying when I worked this game: Rotate Ring.  if you move your hands around the machine to try to keep up with the revolving wire, you will hit the board that sticks up at the back.  There is no need to hit this board!  remember, only twist the ring, never move your hands forward and back!!!!

     3.  When you get to the bottom, wait a little less than a half circle behind the bend in the wire.  (if you look at the photo above, you can see the bend at the bottom).  move just fast enough that you do not lose space (remember, the wire is revolving away, so you have to keep twisting in order to stay in the same place on the wire).  Wait for the bend to be pointing directly at you, then, drag the wand on the table, and twist it in.

Things to watch out for:

     1.  People often think they've lost when they hear another customer's buzzer go off.  Concentrate on what you are doing, and don't jump right away or just give up when you hear the buzzer, make sure it is you who actually lost!

     2.  That bend at the bottom is the hardest part, take your time with it!  It is a little difficult to describe in text how to win this.  I hope to post a movie on that particular part, but, in the meantime, ask the games host to show you.

Probability of Winning:

     3.  This is the HARDEST game in the park.  Usually only one or two people would win a day out of hundreds.  If you can't win it in three tries, you probably can't win.   It took me four days of working in order to master this game.
